History

The organization of a Rotary Club in Rolla was the result of discussions and planning between Bruce Williams, a Rotarian from Joplin, and a nucleus of business and professional men in Rolla.  The club was chartered on February 27, 1935, with 16 members and was the first service club to be organized in Rolla.  The club is in District 6080, has produced ten District Governors, 94 Paul Harris Fellows, currently has 73 members and has contributed over $166,493 to the Rotary Foundation since 1935.

Our mission is to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in individuals, business and professions, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
 
Vision

Rotary Club of Rolla will be a "service" club by emphasizing activities that enhance the quality of life and human dignity in our community with focus on education and supporting young people who need help.
 
We will encourage high ethical standards in our community's young people, businesses and vocations by promoting knowledge and understanding of  The 4-Way Test and by example.
 
We will help build international goodwill and peace through support of The Rotary Foundation and participation in its' programs.
 
Our Community Service Activities

Weekly 50/50 drawing to benefit area food pantries & provide books for grade school libraries.
 
Two $1,000 scholarships awarded annually to Rolla High School students going on to college.
 
Annual Renaissance/CORE Luncheon for Rolla High School students with high GPA or significant improvement in GPA.
 
Provide speakers for RTI/RTC Career Days.
 
Sponsor Student Government Day attendees at the State Capitol.
 
Sponsor RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) attendees at William Woods University, Fulton, MO.

Sponsor Boy's & Girl's State attendees at University of Central Missouri, Warrensburg, MO.
 
Sponsor and Host International Youth Exchange Students.
 
Contributions to local charitable organizations & community needs.
