HISTORY
The organization of a Rotary Club in Rolla was the result of discussions and
planning between Bruce Williams, a Rotarian from Joplin, and a nucleus of
business and professional men in Rolla. The club was chartered on February
27, 1935, with 16 members and was the first service club to be organized in
Rolla. The club is in District 6080, has produced ten District Governors,
95 Paul Harris Fellows, currently has
74 members and has contributed over $150,200 to the
Rotary
Foundation since 1935.

Rotary International is one of the world's largest service
organizations, with 1,221,812 members and 32,596 clubs in 166 countries.
Rotary club membership represents a cross-section of the community's business
and professional men and women. The world's Rotary clubs meet weekly and are
nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. Annually,
Rotary clubs worldwide invite a limited number of men and women to become
members. These prospective members represent various businesses and professional
activities in their communities. As a progressive-minded business or
professional person, you will see that belonging to a Rotary club, where
outstanding representatives of the different vocations in your community come
together, has its benefits.
